Nick Sandmann talks about the incident at Lincoln Memorial

Nick Sandmann was seen in a widely circulated video appearing to face off with a Native American activist during protests in the nation's capital last week said he wasn't disrespectfully smirking at the activist but rather smiling.
"I see it as a smile, saying that this is the best you're going to get out of me," said the student, Nick Sandmann, a junior at the Kentucky school. "You won't get any further reaction of aggression. And I'm willing to stand here as long as you want to hit this drum in my face."
"People have judged me based off one expression, which I wasn't smirking, but people have assumed that's what I have," Sandmann said.

Despite some of the questions by Guthrie, I was very impressed with how Sandmann handled himself in the interview. He stood his ground very well, and it’s obviously because he had the truth on his side.
He never got flubbed by any of her questioning. In a way it reminded me of him trying not to get rattled by Phillips at the Lincoln Memorial, given how he maintained the same facial expression the entire time.
I’m sure the interview is driving some of the left crazy, but they are still seeing red from when he wore his MAGA hat. The kid seems very honest to me and his parents should be very proud of him.

NBC Washington Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor and former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade join Andrea Mitchell to discuss key challenges facing the January 6 Committee ahead of their primetime hearings this week: getting a "distracted nation" to pay attention and understand what's at stake. “I think the biggest challenge for lawmakers here, as they talk about these sort of huge ideas of American democracy and sort of the experiment that we're all living in, benefiting from, possibly being brought to his knees, is whether or not they can make people care,” says Alcindor. “The American public has been groomed to expect high value quick entertainment,” says McQuade. "I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
