Starbucks CEO tells The View ladies just why he wouldn't run as a Democrat for president

This is actually an interesting interview with Howard Schultz , who explains to the ladies of The View why he can’t run as a Democrat.

Politics: Democrats are worrying about former Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz running as an independent for president in 2020. They say it will only help President Trump. But the only reason this lifelong Democrat is thinking about an independent bid is because the Democratic party has moved so far to the left.

Watch:

It’s amazing to hear Schultz explain to these ladies why the policies espoused by Kamala Harris last night are just nuts. He said to get rid of the insurance industry would kill millions of jobs, just to replace it with a government run health care system that we can’t pay for.
Schultz explains to them that the reason he’s running as an independent is because he’d be a hypocrite if he ran as a Democrat. He says that in order to be a Democrat these days, you have to fall in line with free education, free medicare for everyone, free college, a free job for everyone…all from the government. He says he doesn’t support those policies and he’d have to be disingenuous if he said he did.
Transcript for Howard Schultz on why he wouldn't run as a Democrat for president
I promise Starbucks chairman and CEO how shoals was a hot topic here yesterday for saying he seriously considering running for president as an independent. And if you don't tell us. Right now and why he wants to do that please welcome author of the new book from the ground up how would show so. South I have to ask you about that because I think you've been a lifelong Democrat yes are you not sure that your policies are strong enough. So run as a Democrat. Well I think I would have to be disingenuous. To run as a Democrat today but I think the question then I'm asking myself and I think many of us are asking ourselves. Is what kind of country do we want to live in. And right now I think it's clear that the country we are living in need significant change not only change because of this president Brett would change because of the toxicity. And the lack of compromise of both parties. And we certainly saw that. Certainly saw that over the last month the president was responsible for closing the government but 800000. People and their families. We're doing everything possible just to eat. In the Democrats as well the Republicans are responsible for the well I just west quickly what are the dams to left on thank. What issues wolf well I acted like I don't know senator Harris spoke with the seemed to her last night say we should abolish. The insurance industry. As a way to go forward on health care. That alone would wipe out millions of jobs of Americans and that is the kind of extreme policy that is not. A policy and I agree with a and if you take immigration intake health care what we have is extremes on both bright both sides not representing. The large Mon majority of Americans who don't have a voice and when I'm saying is let's give the American people a choice in what better expression of democracy. Then why should we only rely on Republicans and Democrats to have displayed not only last two years but for decades. And inability to do the people's work. I'll tell you why and such but okay. Not but I want to tell people about you a little bit because we've got when I had a show over to CNN. I ran into Howard on the elevator and I said to him how we get me a lot say he's a Starbucks guy right yeah. And I was teasing him and I went back to my office and Mexicana he shows up I have a picture of it they shows up with a lot say now that's it. That's got a lot of that could see your stuff let's until it is a lot to it to me and very nice. I was like the fact that you gave insurance to be a part time employees that was really sweet and that's a little problem. Michael Bloomberg has sent to you don't run and he was thinking of running the than he did the research and found that he could win so he got out of the race. The means saying and I said yesterday that scares me yes is that your entry into this race will guarantee triumph another four years. And we can't not have that you talk about the Democrats. Not wanting to negotiate. They cannot negotiate with its hotline. Have you given the cookie one day the next day he wants another cookie so that's not equal on both sides. They have to play topped the Democrats with him otherwise he will run a mock. Now your entry into the race pretty much guarantees that a Republican is going to win two and I know I don't I don't agree with him. I know I don't in my night in fact not only do not agree with you but I think if president trump. Runs against. A far left progressive Liberal Democrats Biden Biden is a middle of a bug I don't buzzer hasn't come into the race and yet they just let's finish. If he runs again say far left progressive person. Who is suggesting it's 6070%. Tax increases on the rich. And a health care system that we can't pay for president trump is gonna get reelected all wrong Singh is well let me go out to the country and let the people hear my story. I grew up in the projects of Brooklyn. I gave my company comprehensive health insurance equity uniform stock options free college tuition for every employee and I figured. I don't do that with a country when you can't don't listen you when you can because this is the same problem you know who acts. When you look at what you only knew our company yes you can make these changes as you want them to being. When you have to report to their senate and the congress in all that fifty million people that come in the middle. That's a little bit different and so. I you know my big problem is I want people to stand up for what they believe them and I think you are. You're saying to people. I don't think you'll hear me. LSI speech USA independent. I think if you believe in what you believe and then stand up for that as a Democrat and then change the party if you feel like as opposed to. Bowing out what that. I ask you all one question and maybe even the audience. Does anyone believe the current system not only the president but the current political system and our government. Is working well on behalf of the American people absence allowed. No mountainsides and I think it's the. That's an item that had happened money in campaigns and money Dallas Tex. In your glaring example that as logs your billionaire you can run Friday thing in my probably politics right now is the influence of money ended a note she that you that you do you have to be a billionaire to run as an independent that's what Michael Bloomberg's get an example you've. Well you can you can't you can't buy the presidency the American people are gonna decide but look let me just make one point a I know yeah. I'm glad that I may want and I asked her so in the last three or four presidential elections. Basically. Eight gala grand battle ground states decided the election. That's a fact yeah now it's an independent person work to run for president. And get on the ballot of all fifty states which if I decide to run we will be on the ballot of all fifty states for the first time how almost forty years. I'll get this in her first time in almost forty years. Every state every person's vote will matter and won't be eight states and be a fifty state race course of the Electoral College no matter that the way of circumventing endorsed not a way to circumvent and you because we could get to 270 because every state won't matter. But the issue that I can't. That's not a that's an Electoral College access and I love the primary I love primary politics and no no disrespect to you but he just when I'm one of Paltrow is pod cast your here on the view all politics I believe disturbed local why aren't you in New Hampshire and I went right now you don't want analyst Lou I mean I can I think I could be seldom thought I. I don't do it if you're running for president would you believe he YR I I I still believe in the sorry sunny. And interrupt you I did you I truly believe an edit I I actually think that like. If you go to New Hampshire which I've done as as a happy. These people take their vote and they take their first in the nation status seriously the idea that you negate their chilly east. And and I I'm I'm not gonna take concede that I still invited Electoral College. And I think you misunderstanding me I'm not saying anything against Electoral College what I'm saying is if it's a fifty state race you can get to 270 Electoral College applies. With regard to New Hampshire and Iowa. Watch every Democrat go to those states. And have to be disingenuous and probably make a false prop promise about federal hall just to be able to get elected in the primary in those states. I would have to be disingenuous. As a Democrat because if I ran as a demery it because. In order to run as a Democrat today you have to fall in line with free Medicare for everybody free. Free college for everybody a free job for a regularly finish. But in Atlanta said there would be an anti hero that's what you just said you know what I'm really not not the way the but not free for the for the government. And that's wholly totals about forty trillion dollars on top of the fact. That we are sitting 121 trillion dollar debt and in the country today we can't afford to do it frees who has to be a different way. And the different way is corporate responsibility. Passed a fall in line and do more for their people and the communities we serve like Starbucks did. And pharmaceutical companies and lobbyists that have been paying these politicians Democrats and Republicans have to stop. And can you imagine just imagine for one minute. If an independent person could have a mandate from the country from the people. The first one since George Washington. To finally say to the system and the special interest it no longer applies that an independent person can break the logjam of this toxicity. That exist.

I know, he actually sounds sane when he says things like that. But the more you listen, the more you realize he’s only less insane than his Democratic counterparts. In the second part, he admitted that he is pro-choice and would have never voted for Kavanaugh.
What was hilarious to me was to watch each of the ladies on the show try and convince Schultz to run as a Democrat and not run as an independent, telling him that if he runs as an independent he’ll basically reelect Trump.
But he made a great point in his response, telling them that if Kamala Harris (or other Democrats) with these far left ideas wins the primary, then Trump will automatically get reelected because people will reject what it.
That’s exactly what we say….bring on the far left freaks!
Here’s the second part of his interview if you want to watch it. It’s fun watching this debate happen on the left and I’m kinda glad he’s taking the far left of his own party to task.

NBC Washington Correspondent Yamiche Alcindor and former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade join Andrea Mitchell to discuss key challenges facing the January 6 Committee ahead of their primetime hearings this week: getting a "distracted nation" to pay attention and understand what's at stake. “I think the biggest challenge for lawmakers here, as they talk about these sort of huge ideas of American democracy and sort of the experiment that we're all living in, benefiting from, possibly being brought to his knees, is whether or not they can make people care,” says Alcindor. “The American public has been groomed to expect high value quick entertainment,” says McQuade. "I think putting together a polished show can be very important."
